Attack on Titan Final Season Trailer

The trailer for Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 has dropped, teasing an explosive final battle which will bring the saga to an end.

The intensely epic trailer for Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2, the final part of the anime saga, has dropped, teasing the explosive battle between the colossal brothers Eren and Zeke. Due to air its first episode, episode 76, on January 9, 2022, the newly released footage gives us a glimpse at the climax of Eren Jaeger’s story, which promises to bring Attack on Titan to a close in a hugely satisfying, action-packed manner.

Based on the manga of the same name by Hajime Isayama, Attack on Titan began way back in April 2013, and has become one of the most popular anime shows of all time, having received widespread acclaim and a broad, passionate fanbase. The series drops audiences into a post-apocalyptic world where the remains of humanity live behind walls protecting them from mysterious, giant humanoids known as Titans.

With humanity driven to the brink of extinction, Attack on Titan follows Eren Jaeger, whose mother is killed when a Titan breaches the wall of his hometown. Vowing revenge, Eren joins the elite Survey Corps, a group of soldiers who are tasked with taking the fight to the Titans, with the series chronicling Eren’s journey from terrified child to battle-hardened warrior and all while slowly revealing the origins of the titular beasts.

Produced by MAPPA, Attack on Titan Season 4 is chief directed by Jun Shishido and directed by Yūichirō Hayashi, with the duo replacing Tetsurō Araki and Masashi Koizuka respectively. So much has happened within the terrifyingly wonderful world of Attack on Titan since the series first aired, and it is advised that you do some catching up before this glorious saga is brought to an end.

The fourth and final outing for Attack on Titan will pick up four years after the failed mission to claim the Founding Titan, following Gabi Braun and Falco Grice, a pair of young Eldian Warrior candidates who are seeking to inherit Reiner's Armored Titan.

The nation of Marley is edging closer to invading Paradis Island, with plans in place to strengthen their weakening military and hopefully recover the coveted Founding Titan. With the various sides on a collision course, Eren Jaeger reveals his new plan of attack on the Marleyan invaders, which amounts to nothing less than annihilation.

As both sides take a heavy death toll, Eren's comrades begin to realize that he has begun to walk down a questionable path, while Gabi and Falco must combat their internal tensions over the supposed "devils" of Paradis. Teasing a battle every bit as brutally destructive as anything that has come before in the show, Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 is certainly looking to be a fitting conclusion to the hugely popular anime series.

Directed by Yuchiro Hayashi, written by series scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko, and with character design by Tomohiro Kishi, the trailer for the final part of Attack on Titan has been released just a few weeks ahead of the exciting return of the popular anime, which will premiere on January 9, 2022, on NHK General TV.

Attack on Titan is getting delayed – and fans think it’s because a movie is coming

The potential Attack on Titan season 4 finale has been delayed, and fans think it's because a movie will bring the hit anime to a close instead.

As posted on the official Attack on Titan Japanese website, episode 87 has been delayed a week from March 27 to April 3 due to a "special program."

A recent report (H/T ComicBook.com), has the second half of the so-called 'Final Season' set to last for 12 episodes. That 12th and final episode was set for March 27 and was presumably going to end the series.

However, as those familiar with the source material will know, there's likely going to be too much ground to adapt in the remaining episodes. Could a movie announcement as part of the special program on March 27 kick off the true final act for the series?

Fans certainly think so. "Yea that’s definitely a movie announcement for Attack on Titan cuz I don’t think that’s enough to finish the manga," one wrote on Twitter. Another said, it could be "potentially announcing a movie for the ending or/and an anime original ending maybe, that’s my naive hope."

Others, though, aren't as pleased with the potential announcement. "They're really gonna make an Attack on Titan movie, aren't they? They're really gonna pull a 'oops this isn't actually the end lol' for a second time??" lamented one Attack on Titan viewer. Another summed up the divisive mood, saying, "I don't want a movie. Please no movie."

Attack on Titan the Final Season Episode 87 to be Delayed 1 Week

Attack on Titan The Final Season’s 87th episode will be delayed by 1 week, the anime’s official Twitter account announced on Wednesday. The exact reason behind the delay is still unknown, though a “special event” will occur in its place.

Episode 87 will air on April 3 instead of March 27. The anime’s 84th episode will be delayed by 10 minutes, airing at 12:15 a.m. on March 6th instead of 12:05 a.m.

Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga series was serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from 2009-2021 under the Shōnen Magazine Comics imprint. The highly popular series inspired an equally successful anime adaptation, various novels, manga spin-offs, video games, and a live-action film.

The Attack on Titan anime adaptation premiered during the Spring 2013 season, with the first season running for 25 episodes. Wit Studio animated the first three seasons of the series, with MAPPA taking over for the fourth and final season.

Tetsurō Araki (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Death Note) directed the first three seasons, with Masashi Koizuka (Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Hanasaku Iroha: Blossoms for Tomorrow) serving as assistant director for the second and third seasons, and Yasuko Kobayashi (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, Claymore) handling the series composition.

Yuichiro Hayashi (Garo: The Animation, Kakegurui) took over as director for the final season alongside Jun Shishido (Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, Tales of Saiunkoku). Hiroshi Seko (Ajin: Demi-Human, Inuyashiki) served as a scriptwriter for the first three seasons and handles the series composition for the final season. Hiroyuki Sawano (Kill la Kill, Promare) composes the series’ music alongside Kohta Yamamoto (86, Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga).

Kodansha USA publishes the Attack on Titan manga series in English. Funimation licenses the anime series outside of Japan alongside the companion anime films.
